About Les Panchyshyn

Les Panchyshyn was born on October 26, 1991 in Novy Rozdil, Lviv region. When the boy was 7 years old, the family moved to Lviv, where he went to first grade. At the same time, he attended a music school (violin).

As a teenager, Les was looking for ways to express himself in different directions. He attended a group of folk dances, was engaged in painting and sculpture.

In 2000, the boy entered the Oleksa Novakivskyi Lviv Children’s Art School. He was always fond of football and in 2003 he started playing for the ENERGY sports club. In 2006, he entered the Lviv State College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Ivan Trush, majoring in “art ceramics” (director: Taras Bogdanovich Levkiv).

In 2008, he finished playing for SC ENERGY (mini-football) at the professional level.

In the first year of study, he became interested in photography and already in 2007-2008 he began to participate in group photo exhibitions, as well as organizing personal exhibitions. In 2009, he took part in and won a photo contest from Ukrsotsbank.

In the third year, he seriously took up painting and transferred to the appropriate direction, and also began to study the basics of video shooting and editing. In 2010, Les Panchyshyn won the “Lviv through the eyes of youth” painting competition.

In 2011, after graduating from Trush College, Les Panchyshyn entered the Lviv National Academy of Arts, where he continues to improve as an artist.

From 2012 to 2014, Les Panchyshyn was a member of SLAVA FROLOVA GROUP — one of the largest curatorial companies for young artists in Ukraine.

In 2012, Les Panchyshyn became interested in video art and started working on music videos for young Ukrainian artists. Les shot videos for Olesya Kyrychuk, rock groups “Rock-H”, “Patricia”, “Panchyshyn”, “Svitlana Tarabarova”, “Yariko”, “Natalka Karpa”. “, “Tartak”, “Who’s Down”, “Hapochka”, “Shadow of the Sun”, “Vivienne Mort”.

Les Panchyshyn is the author of social advertising commissioned by “Stary Lev Publishing House”, “SchedreEtno” festival, “TheUkrainians.org” magazine about successful Ukrainians.

In 2016, he moved to Kyiv.

Participant of many group and personal exhibitions both in Ukraine and in the USA, Germany, Austria, France, Belgium.

Since 2017, he has been interested in music and was a member of the band “Panchyshyn”.

In 2017 and 2018, he illustrated two books of Stary Lev Publishing House. Illustrated 2 books. “That’s Lviv” in 2017 and “Winter King” in 2018.

In 2017, he was the curator of two plein air events held at Edem Resort & Spa. Also, at the end, an exhibition was held in the Edem art space. There is a video from the first plein air on YouTube. Also this year, a member of the “VILNI” public organization[16]. With which the Artcube project was implemented. It was presented in several cities of Ukraine.

In 2020, Les Panchyshyn Gallery organized an open-air exhibition at the Grand Hotel Lviv. Artists from all over the country were invited. Upon completion, all paintings were presented at Les Panchyshyn Gallery in Kyiv.

2021 Personal exhibition at the Ukrainian National Museum (Chicago). 2021 collaboration with a Ukrainian brand that creates clothing collections. Overall.ua — overalls with a picture print were presented at Ukraine fashion week[19]. He released a collaboration with drinking water “Kovtok”.

2021 Cooperation with DTEK. A joint social project called “Swings” developed and created two sculptures that are installed in Kyiv (VDNG) and Odesa – Slavy Park.

In 2021, he received “Best new exhibitor” at Miami Art week. Took part in the charity tour organized by the “Revived Soldiers Ukraine” foundation. More than 13 concerts were organized in different cities of the USA where the paintings were sold. The funds were directed to the treatment and prosthetics of our military. 13 paintings were submitted. Took part in a charity auction organized by ARTSY Gallery (N.Y)

In 2022-2023, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the paintings that were available began to be sold. More than 20 paintings were sold and all funds were transferred to various charitable funds (Return alive, Prytula fund) in the first days, about 150 thousand hryvnias were transferred. Also to the military hospital at the TRO.

Opening of the sculpture in Irpen. Named “Light will defeat darkness” (cooperation with the Dtek company), a drone for the Armed Forces was purchased and sent for the fee received.

Opened a personal project at the Ritz Hotel (Miami).

Was presented in Picadilloart gallery (Miami).

Presented the “Ukraine Forever” project at a public event of the mayor of Sunny Isles (Miami). After completion, the paintings were transferred to the mayor’s office and exhibited there.

Took part in the Auction organized by the charity organization All hands and Heart. The painting called New Hope was sold for $17,000. The funds are directed to the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities. This was done by the Save Ukraine center fund (Miami, USA)

Took part in the exhibition “Hope for the lights” Vienna, Austria.

Made a joint project with Ivan Marchuk in the art space Barbareum (Vienna, Austria).
